Choosing a word for the year isn’t something I have always done, but once I tried it, I’m hooked. You can choose one word or several. Sometimes the word chooses you. Sometimes it comes after reflection.

So, let’s get started!

Choosing a word for the year doesn’t need to be daunting. In fact, it is life giving!

1. Reflection

Make a list of what went well the previous year.

Make a list of what areas you would like to see improvement or change.

What can you use more of in your life?

How can less of something be beneficial?

How do you want to feel at the end of the year?

Are there any characteristics, skills, or traits you would like to have or improve upon?

2. Imagine

What would the perfect day look like for you? Focus on how you would feel?

If you need to spend some time meditating first, go for it. This step is best when you are relaxed.

3. Brainstorm
