I agree with the fact that it needed to be noticed before it got to the award phase. It does bring into question the character of Medium's staff and abilities. I didn't read the piece so I can't speak to her writing.

What I'm concerned with is the fact that they chose a writer who has only posted two pieces, the winning piece and an essay about winning. That's it. It does feel like a bit of a slap in the face for the writers who come here at least 3-4 times EVERY WEEK.

Is anyone questioning whether Randi Ragan knew someone on the judge's panel? Just saying.

By the way, apparently if you want to call for her disqualification, which some have already done, you can write to Medium's Help Desk and demand her disqualification. I don't know if it will happen, but.....if it's got your panties in that much of a crunch, go for it.
