As a Life Coach and Spiritual Director, I often ask my clients a couple of questions: 1) where do you think the stubborness comes from, and 2) what's the worst thing that will happen if you let go of your stubborness? 3) what happens if you learn something new and wonderful from the advice given to you?

It's ok to be stubborn at certain times, as you learned from reading the Wilkins article, but, as you have obvioiusly learned, it can also bite you. May you continue to allow yourself to be open.
