As you know, Jonathan, I own a publication -- Refresh the Soul (which is open to new writers) -- and I publish there but also in other publications. I have generally had good experiences with editors in the publications I have submitted to, but I also wonder if that's a two-edged sword. In other words, you catch more flies with honey. If you're nice, they are generally kind in return. If you, as the writer, follow the submission guidelines (do you hear all the pub owners and editors groaning right now? 😁) then you get bonus points. Great questions!
