Spirit, guide me into being a good steward of the gifts you bestow upon me. Help me to be a good or better steward and be a help to the overall climate change.

You probably know the story about how God created the Earth in 6 days (Genesis 1). Slowly, over time, humans have been a part of the story of creation as well as the degradation of the Earth’s environment.

How is that, you ask?

The short answer is lifestyle choices. When people don’t recycle or leave the lights on when they leave a room or always use hot water to do laundry, leave electronics plugged in when not using, drive solo in a car to work, etc. These lifestyle choices have slowly added to the degradation of the Earth. There are many more things to add to this list.

To truly practice Zen therefore means not leaving lights
