Spirit, in the arms of grief, help me to stand up. In the days of grief, help me to keep going. When I sense I am too exhausted because grief must take its course, give me space to rest. Most of all, please surround me with Your Presence so that I may experience Your Love, Peace, Grace, and Mercy as I take this journey, in this season.

How many of you have experienced grief?

I’m sure if I was standing in a room full of 100 people or a stadium of 10,000, all hands would go up because, at some point in your life, everyone experiences grief of some sort. There are so many types of losses that don’t involve death, which can bring on grief.

Some experience it too early in life and don’t know how to give it space, or even know how to give voice to it. Others may be older, and still struggle to understand the place of grief in life, not knowing how to give it proper space and language.

It is impossible for you to go on as you were before, so you must go on as you never have. — Cheryl Strayed
