The image above is one of my own pictures of the Grand Canyon when we made a cross-country drive. I don’t think any photo can do the canyon any justice. You need to see with your own eyes. Marvelous wonder? Oh yeah.

Here are some facts you might not know about this marvelous wonder:

  • discovered in 1200 BC by the Anasazi people
  • located in Arizona
  • formed by the Colorado River when it cut through the plateau
  • roughly 5 million tourists visit every year
  • there are many side canyons that have been created by erosion over the years
  • it is considered one of the seven natural wonders of the world
