Have you ever had someone tell you that they are your “ride or die” only to have the sh*t hit the fan and they are nowhere to be found? Or vice versa. Have you ever told someone that you are their “ride or die” only to be consumed by fear when something happens, and you run for the hills?

No judgment.

What happens? Do you forgive them? Are you hoping to be forgiven? How do you know when the time is right?

More importantly, what happened?!

According to the Urban Dictionary, “ride or die” means “when you are willing to do anything for someone you love or someone you really appreciate in your life. The person who you stand by in any problem and vice versa,” which comes from the phrase, “ride till the end or die trying.”

Dictionary.com has a similar meaning, “a colloquial expression of extreme loyalty to someone or something.”

When Peter says, “What do you mean I’m not able to follow you now? I would sacrifice my life to die for you!” (John 13:37, TPT) he’s saying,

“Dude, I’m your ride or die.”
