A few years ago, I kept getting the word “crevice,” pop into my thoughts, which means “a narrow opening or fissure, especially in a rock or wall.” The etymology of the word shows us that it was originally from the Old French word, “crevace,” which comes from “crever — to burst,” which comes from the Latin word, “crepare” — to rattle, crack.
