I used to play a game with an old friend of mine. Each year we would predict where we would be in a year. What would we be doing? Of course, none of our thoughts would be accurate, but when you reach for the moon, you gran on to the stars.

Here’s how to set achievable goals:

First, allow yourself to be a visionary. If you struggle with looking to the future, this might be an excellent exercise for you. Forget the part that it might not happen. Lean in and allow yourself to imagine and dream.

What are some goals or dreams you would like to achieve in the next year? Make a list from the most mundane things to the biggest. Prioritize the list because you can’t do everything now. What is most important to you?

Second, break those goals into bite-size steps. How do you do that? It’s all about increments, and a little bit goes a long way.

  • Write out the end goal
  • What is something you can do within a week that helps you move towards that goal? Write that down as your one-week goal
  • Do this every week
  • Put the goals into your calendar with pop-up…
