Creator, guide us into understanding and love that we may always feel at home on this Earth.

Some of you can and will make your physical home a place where you dwell and live for many years. In fact, Scott Russell Sanders is one of those people. He is the author of Staying Put: Making a Home in a Restless World.

But, and this is a BIG but…not everyone has that choice.

So, the question becomes: is there such a thing as a spiritual home that is the same as your physical home? I understand that some will agree and others will not.

I grew up on three different continents outside of the U.S. before coming to the U.S. to live permanently. I didn’t have a choice in that because my father’s job took us around the world. I didn’t mind growing up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK). In fact, I would much prefer to have stayed across the pond.

It is because of this that I have adopted a spiritual home wherever I am. It rests in my heart and soul.

Although Sanders, a resident of Bloomington, IL, has made a home there for 20 years, he seems to recognize the privilege of that in this quote from his book:
