Letting Go: Acts of Generosity That Can Be Empowering, Exciting, and Applauded
To Be Generous Means to Let Go
Often times people associate generosity with a spiritual action from their heart. There is truth to that. It does require empathy and heart movement. Letting go also requires an act of generosity. We let go of money, food, clothing, and other things as an act of generosity.
When you participate in the action of letting go, you are empowering yourself. Yes, it’s exciting to let go of belongings that you no longer need, and you should be applauded. I know Maria Kondo is applauding. Celebrate the freedom!
This newfound liberation can be empowering. Lean into it. Let it sink into your bones.
Think about this too. When you let go of old habits and old things, you are abandoning the past — things that were not healthy. As you are letting go, you are empowering yourself to cultivate goodness, kindness, and love.
It also might mean letting go of a dream — something not so wonderful, but necessary for the season you are in. It could also mean letting go of guilt. Maybe it also means letting go of memories that once were so that you can move on.
