Oh, Abandoned Soul — Where Can I Find You a Safe & Reliable Home?

Simple needs — is it possible?

Inspired by Maya Angelou’s Alone

Resting, wondering
staring out the window
where will my soul find home?

Like dirt finds its earth
as earth caresses it with care

Like coffee sits in a cup
as the cup keeps it warm

Like saltwater finds an ocean
as the ocean allows water to find freedom

Like words grace a page
as the page brings life to the words

Like carrots reach into the dirt
as dirt nourishes and empowers

Like sun sits in the sky
as sky embraces and expands the light

Like crayons etches the paper
as paper greets crayons without judgment

I wonder.

Is there a place for my soul?
Is there solace for my awakening?
Is there joy in the chaos?
