One of the favorite pieces I wrote was for a writing exercise in a UCLA Extensions Creative Non Fiction class. I wrote about a normal day from my childhood with my mother, a narcissist. After I was finished writing it, I was asked to read it in class, to which my professor asked, "Are you trained?"
I answered, "You mean with an MFA?" and she said, "yes."
"No," I said dropping my head down.
"Oh, so you're innate."
Proudest moment, thus far, of my writing career. That story will become a part of my memoir, and has not been published yet.
