This is a process — a deep, moving process of looking inward, tapping into the core of who you are, and allowing yourself to be changed. Part of the process is learning to open up. When you learn to open up, you will be open to yourself, others, and everything else.

As you sit at your sacred spot, quiet yourself. What is the first thing that comes to your mind? Do you have questions? Do you hear statements?

Write all of those down. It’s ok to write feverishly and fast and get it out onto that piece of paper.

Allow your heart to open up. If you find yourself at a pause. It’s ok.

Exercise: Take a sheet of letter-size paper. Tear off a 1/2 inch (1.25 centimeter) strip lengthwise. You’re going to create a Möbius strip. On one end of the strip, write the phrase, “I write.” On the other end, write, “The…
