This past week, the writing prompt theme was to use your five senses, using the analogy of a wave. We have all encountered times in our lives when life feels like waves have hit us, and this writing prompt encouraged you to recall that time, using your five senses to draw awareness to how that affected you holistically — mind, body, and soul.

I loved the creativity that some of you took. It was refreshing to my soul to read each one of your submissions, feeling pain, joy, and trepidation.

Wire Editor Newman wrote about the time he went to the Louisiana State Fair and how his five senses, at a young age, were unforgettable. What made that day special was the people involved.

“That missing sense is LOVE. I remember that day so well. I remember, for years later, how loved and respected I felt by this couple.”
