That whole part about empathy expanding and shrinking throughout life will have me pondering for days!

As a non-parent of two-leggeds, I have found I keep my mouth shut, but you’re making me realize I do have empathy no matter what. My heart hurts when I hear or read that a child was involved in something life shattering. I have wondered if that’s because my 5-yr-old self emerges.
