As you walk through the world, may you know that you are not alone and that you are deeply loved by God.

I was watching Oprah and Viola on Netflix and heard this statement, which made me stop the show so I could write it down.

When you are in the face of compassion and empathy, it’s amazing how it kills shame… because you’re seen and you’re seen for something way more valuable than your circumstances. — Viola Davis

How many of you understand that statement to the core? The beauty of compassion and empathy can kill the shame.

So, next time when you’re faced with an unsettling or challenging situation, even if it’s with yourself, can you turn your inner voices of shame-talk to compassion and empathy?
