“See all human behavior as one of two things: either love, or a call to love.” — Marianne Williamson

I saw that quote and knew that it spoke deeply about community — how we judge others, how others judge us, and how we still belong in a community. In fact, there are many layers to that quote.

First, you can be a part of a community if you so choose.

Second, you choose to love others, despite their flaws, just as you deserve love despite your flaws.

Third, community is messy. It can feel difficult to be human, loving, and challenging to want to continue being a part of that community. But. And this is a big but…when you see a community through all the seasons, and people work through the messiness and difficulties, you see love in a whole new way — a way that bonds you for life.

Today, I’m writing about the broader sense of community because I believe I am a global citizen. With the burdens of the virus and war raging, you can often get caught up in the emotions without noticing that people are running for their lives.
