she dances in the field
the sun spraying across her yellow face
the breeze moves her slim body
coming straight out of the dirt

she sings in the field
the rains sprinkling love on her arms
whimsy and play are calling to the earth
rain, rain, please come and help me grow

she mourns in the field
as her daisy friends die
the sun—too hot
the rain—too strong
their bodies—too weak

she returns to her dance
lifting her head to the sun
as it glimmers across her
bright yellow surface

the sweet petals
whispering in the wind
reminding her that she is a beauty
just as she is

what about you?

lifting your face to the sun
reaching your arms up over your head
giving a beautiful salutation to…
