There is so much I'm resonating with in this article. First, as a biracial Asian, I didn't realize there was a "problem" until I arrived to the US at the age of 14. I went through so many experiences like you described. I even dressed up one day, went into a Nordstrom's to buy a Christmas gift for my mom, stood at the counter and the woman never even said hello. I stood there for several minutes shaking and then finally mustered courage to ask for service.
