The mystery of death and resurrection and the story of Jonah

Spirit, be with me on my path of death and resurrection. Let your presence be known as I face my humanity, knowing you are always with me.

If you know anything about Christianity, you know that the story of Jesus is all about death and resurrection.

But how does that apply to you, the human who sins?

Well, it appears that Jesus addressed this first in Matthew 12:39

“Jesus replied, “Only evil people who are unfaithful to God would demand a sign. There will be no sign given to you except the sign of the prophet Jonah.”

And in Matthew 16:4

“A wicked and wayward generation always asks for signs, but the only sign I provide for you will be the sign of Jonah the prophet.”
