Spirit, help me to see You more clearly in the everyday ordinary things.

Are you someone who doubts the sense of God in your daily activities? Maybe you think the Divine presence is just for the Mother Teresa’s, pastors, priests, and those people who have been publicly called to higher holy ground.

Wait… what?

What does that say about everyone else? Are you less important to God?

What does that say about you and me who are not called to public teaching? What does that say about the Marthas of the world? Y’know… Martha, the sister of Mary, who was chastised for getting the meal ready and probably cleaning the house for their esteemed guest — Jesus.

“Martha was worried about all that had to be done. Finally, she went to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!”

The Lord answered, “Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about so many things, 42but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her.” — Luke 10:40,41, CEV
