Writing Prompt

Write down ideas on how you can be more accepting of those who are different from you. How can doing this improve your quality of life?

Take note of this part: Somewhere in your submission, include at least one shout-out to another writer with an embed link to one of their stories. If the story or stories doesn’t fit with yours, just add it at the end.

We, as human beings, often react in fear when we interact with someone different than ourselves. Our humanity struggles with acceptance and inclusion.

When I was in Seminary, one of my classes required a field trip to a farm owned and operated by a Native American family. In fact, some of you might know Randy Woodley because of some of the books he’s written.

Randy Woodley is very familiar to Portland Seminary as he was the lead professor for the Intercultural Studies program.

What I learned that day about Indigenous Theology and how Native American Christians practice their faith helped me recognize that we live out our faiths differently, but we are the same in many ways.

They are the same different as me.
