What Are You Sacrificing When You Rush Through Life?
Health? Peace? Relationships? Love?
Stop and take a moment to breathe right now. Go ahead. You can do it.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply through your nose. Hold it for 5 counts and exhale through your mouth. Let your exhale completely deflate the diaphragm. When you think you’ve completed your exhale, place a hand on your diaphragm (the area just below your lungs). Keep exhaling until you feel your diaphragm concave.
Now open your eyes. Do you think you can do that throughout your day?
Take moments to slow your heart, mind, and soul down so that you can see what’s important. Being able to do this allows you a self-induced gift so that you aren’t sacrificing what is important in life.
How many stories have you heard about people who were on the go and made a success of themselves (or not) but ended up sacrificing their health, peace, a precious relationship, and/or love?
Some might say that they cannot slow down until they retire. What does that even mean? By that time life will…
