Some of you will remember nuggets of wisdom from your parents or loved ones. Some of you will think of the wisdom that was spoken to you by a passing stranger. Either way, what do you do with those nuggets of wisdom seeping into your soul?

Do you shelve that wisdom for another day, dismiss it, or allow it to flood your heart, soul, and mind and transform you?

A few weeks ago, on a trip to New York City with some family members, we talked about ideas that are presented to us when we’re going through trials or situations. I refer to them as nuggets of wisdom. The concept of shelving came up.

Think about it: you’re going through something, and you chat with someone whose opinion you respect. You ask them for feedback, opinions, and thoughts. So, they share. It’s not what you thought you would hear. Do you shelve it or sit with it?

What we came to realize in our conversation is that most people, unknowingly, will do one of three things:
