The Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday.

Part of the 40 days of Lent is a gift to yourself and Jesus. It is fasting from something — giving up something, sacrificing an idol (if you will), abandoning a habit, signing off from what takes up too much time, or yielding to the Spirit.

Most people give up food or sweets for Lent.

What are some distractions that pull you away from living a fuller life? What will you be invited to give up for Lent so you can go deeper in your faith?

Will you give up food? Sweets? Electronics? Anger? Joy? Sadness? Work? Play?

Let your hearts be soft in this season. Be willing to sacrifice your idols so that you may enjoy a deeper journey with the Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

Allow the Spirit to gather your soul up and bring you into a place of spiritual rest.
