Yesterday was Yesterday, Let it Go and Live for Today
Are you letting too much of yesterday seep into your today?
Of course, when you’ve undergone a boat load of trauma in your past, it’s something you have to learn to manage for the rest of your life but know that yesterday was for yesterday and today is for today.
What are you doing to let go of yesterday so you can live for today?
One of the ways I have learned to manage my trauma and the stress it brings to my mind, body, and soul is to take time to meditate every day.
As you think about the quote from Will Rogers, what pops up in your mind immediately? Is there something that is still lingering that won’t allow you to live for today?
“Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.”
— Proverbs 29:11
Exercise
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and exhale. Repeat four more times.
Focus on that thing that just came to mind. Hold it in your thoughts for a minute.
Now imagine a different, more positive scenario as the outcome.
