You are braver than you think, but you don’t have to be brave every day. You are allowed to be gentle with yourself. You are allowed to be brave and shy, bold and anxious, fearless and fearful, lionhearted and mousy, valiant and apprehensive.

In other words, being brave is only one part of you and you are like a beautiful stained-glass window that captures Light and lets it seep through you to other parts of your life. The other parts of you are also worth getting to know.

What does that look like?

One way to get to know the other parts is to pay attention to who you are when no one is around. Who do you become when nothing is being asked of you?

So, yes, you are braver than you know, but you are also worthy of love and mercy and tenderness.

Maybe what fuels your bravery is always working or always showing that you are brave and strong or taking care of others, but remember to pause and remember to be brave just for yourself. And if you don’t feel like being brave, it’s ok to be shy, anxious, fearful, mousy, or apprehensive.
